The Mom Mode Co.
A local mom community in the Inland Empire — Mommy & Me mornings, fitness events, mom nights and a little magic — built three years ago by a mom who wanted the kind of space she was looking for herself. Still growing, right alongside its moms.

Outside of being a mom, I’m a creative, a business owner and someone who genuinely loves bringing people together. I run my own spray tan business, The Ritual, and I’ve also built a local community for moms through The Mom Mode Co. I love creating, connecting, finding the fun in everyday life and saying yes to experiences that make me feel like me again.
I’m a boy mom to two, a wife, a Disney lover and, honestly, I’m still figuring out who I am in each season of life. Motherhood is a huge part of my identity, but I think it’s important to remember that there’s still a whole woman underneath the “mom” title — and I’m learning to make space for her, too.
Kora’s story
How did The Mom Mode Co. start?
The Mom Mode Co. is a local mom community in the Inland Empire that I started about three years ago. It actually began when I joined a well-known “mom walk” company. While I loved the idea of creating community for moms, I quickly realized that their values and the type of community I wanted to create didn’t fully align with my own. That experience gave me the push to step out on my own and build something that felt more authentic to me.
I started with a simple desire to create the kind of community I was looking for myself — a space where moms could meet other moms, bring their little ones and feel like they belonged without any pressure or judgment. What started as a small idea quickly became something much bigger. We’ve hosted everything from Mommy & Me activities and fitness events to mom nights, creative experiences, local business collaborations and simple opportunities to get out of the house and meet someone new.
Although our name has changed a few times along the way, the values behind the community have always stayed the same: inclusivity, connection and a safe space where moms can come exactly as they are. Whether you’re a brand-new mom, deep in the toddler years, navigating school-age kids or simply looking for a new chapter and new friendships, there’s a place for you here. I didn’t start it with a big business plan; I started it because I saw a need. More than anything, I’m proud that I was able to create the kind of community I was searching for myself.
It doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. What I’m creating really does matter.

A moment that reminded you why you do this?
Planning an event can be stressful and overwhelming. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make every experience feel special, and sometimes I’ll leave an event feeling like I didn’t meet my own expectations or that I could have done more.
And then I’ll get a simple message from a mom saying, “Thank you. I had such a good time,” or telling me how much she needed that day. Those little messages mean more than people probably realize. They remind me that while I’m focused on all the things I think could have been better, someone else is walking away feeling connected, seen, or simply grateful to have had a few hours to be herself.
What’s a hard lesson you’ve had to learn while building it?
That change doesn’t mean failure. When I first started, so many of the moms were in the same season of motherhood — little ones at home, stroller walks and playdates. Over the years, I’ve watched those same kids start preschool or school, and their moms naturally become less available for our daytime walks and meetups. At first that was hard. There was a part of me that wondered, “Are we losing our community?”
But I’ve learned that people can move in and out of different seasons of the community without ever truly leaving it. A mom may not be able to make a Tuesday morning walk anymore, but she can come to a Mom’s Night Out. She may not have a toddler anymore, but she still knows she has a place here. The goal was never to keep everyone in the same place — it was to create a community that could grow alongside them. The values haven’t changed, even when the season has.
Your favorite gathering so far?
Our Moms Are Magic night. We had a private patio reserved just for our group, an up-close magician performing exclusively for us and a room full of moms who got to just relax, laugh and enjoy themselves.
What made it so special was seeing the moms completely let go for the night. We’re so used to being the ones making the plans, taking care of everyone and thinking ten steps ahead. For a few hours, they didn’t have to do any of that. It felt like the perfect representation of what I want The Mom Mode Co. to be: experiences that moms probably wouldn’t plan for themselves, and a space to simply enjoy being women outside of motherhood. Moms deserve a little magic too.
Give yourself some love — what are you proud of?
I’m really proud that I trusted myself enough to start something of my own and, more importantly, that I’ve continued to evolve it as life and motherhood have evolved around me.
I’m also proud of the friendships I’ve made with other local mom community hosts. There’s something special about having women who understand the behind-the-scenes of what we do — the difficulties, the stress, the pressure of putting yourself out there, but also the really rewarding moments. Those relationships have become a community of their own.
But I think I’m most proud that I never lost sight of why I started. I created something that didn’t exist for me when I needed it, and now I get to watch other moms find connection through it.
