For several years, my signature look was ‘I found this in the dryer.’

I don’t say that to be relatable — I say it because it was true, and it was a symptom of something bigger: I had stopped seeing myself as someone worth dressing. I was in mom mode so hard that I had essentially put my visual identity on hold. Clothes were functional. Comfort was king. My personal style had packed a bag and left without telling me.

The turning point came slowly, the way most good things do. I started noticing that getting dressed in the morning felt like an afterthought — and that how I felt about myself in the mirror was affecting how I showed up everywhere else.

So I started small.

A pair of jeans that actually fit — not ‘technically fits’ but fit fit. A leather jacket I bought on a whim that made me feel like a person who had opinions. A skincare routine that wasn’t just whatever was on sale at Target (though, to be clear, Target is and will always be a spiritual experience).

“Finding your style again as a mom isn’t about becoming who you were before kids. It’s about figuring out who you are now — with everything you’ve been through, the body you’re in today, the life you’re actually living.”

I’m not a 26-year-old with unlimited time and a different bank account. I’m Christa. Founder of Mommish. Getting healthier, feeling it, building something. And what I wear should reflect that woman — not some earlier draft of her.

Some things I’ve learned: fit matters more than size. Investment pieces are worth it when they’re right. You don’t have to dress your age, but you should dress your life. And getting dressed in the morning is, genuinely, a small act of self-respect.

I’ll be sharing more — real outfits, real budgets, real life. Because every mom deserves to feel like herself when she walks out the door.
